The Phoenix NBC affiliate reached out to Dr. Malek because of a recent warning from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that 350 medical practices throughout the U.S. may have received unapproved Botox shipments from a Canadian pharmacy that could be counterfeit or unsafe. Dysport and Botox are the only approved versions of botulinum toxin that can be used in the U.S.
As a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Malek is held to the highest standards in medical ethics and guidelines and a strict adherence to FDA recommendations at his practice in Scottsdale, Arizona.
